A Mental Wellbeing Plan is an Employee Assistance Program (EAP) that provides confidential support and resources to employees struggling with mental health issues, such as stress, anxiety, depression, or grief, allowing them to access short-term counseling, referrals to specialists, and other tools to manage their mental well-being and maintain productivity at work.

Unlike standard EAPs, these plans are classified as "group health plans" under federal law, which means employees who leave their jobs may continue accessing these mental health services through COBRA continuation coverage.
